Transformational Overseas Experience
My transformational experience took place between my freshman and sophomore year as a student at The Ohio State University. I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into, but I signed up to study abroad in the Czech Republic on what is now called the Sustainability and Agricultural Policy in the European Union program. I had never been out of the country and didn't even know it wasn't called Czechoslovakia anymore when I applied. I learned everything I thought was universal was actually "American" and things I thought were only "American" were universal. Participating in the program helped me recognize my passion for working with a university, and I ended up making a career of helping students through their Ohio State experience. I have since traveled to all seven continents.
