Program Testimonials
The best part of this program was the international environment of the school I attended, and its unique interaction with Spain and Spanish culture. At IE University, I made friends from every continent, and from every region of the world. Meeting individuals from Switzerland, Australia, Indonesia, Peru, Namibia, Japan, Russia, the Netherlands, Iceland, and more, was an eye-opening experience for me. Not only was I able to understand how the culture in which an individual grows up influences their personality and how they interact with others, but I had the opportunity to learn about new perspectives on important cultural and international events in the world today. This study abroad changed the way I see international events, especially important occurrences impacting the US and the EU.
Furthermore, I had the opportunity to experience Spanish culture, and compare my experience with those of the other international students. I was able to connect with a family in Madrid, and I spent a lot of time with them. This allowed me to have an insight into Spain that my friends did not receive as much as I did. I fell in love with the relaxed way that Spaniards approach the world, like the siesta, while many of my friends from other Western cultures did not appreciate it so much. This program was a blend of international culture and Spanish culture, with a heavier emphasis on the international.

What is unique about this program?
Program Testimonials
This program is unique because it allows students to meet other students from around the globe. On many study abroad programs, most Americans become friends with other American students. On this program, you will absolutely make friends from across the globe. My best friends in the program were from Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, and Iceland. While I also made American friends, I really valued my international interactions because they taught me about how the world works, and what similarities and differences I have with the way other cultures and individuals interact with each other.
