Exchange students continue to pay their regular Ohio State tuition for the duration of their exchange program.
The room rate is based on Nanzan University's dormitory option and includes utilities but no meals. Students wishing to pursue the homestay option will need to budget for 60, 000 JPY (approximately $520) a month; the homestay fee includes two meals a day.
The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) estimates monthly food expenditures ("board") at 25, 000 JPY or approximately $225/month. This estimate is included for those students pursuing the dormitory option. The estimate would be much lower for students pursuing the homestay option.
The Centers for Disease Control can be consulted for recommended vaccines for travel to Japan.
Education Abroad Personal Expenses includes estimated costs for student cell phone, Nanzan's estimated miscellaneous expenses and Japan's National Health Insurance (required by partner).
