The program includes weekly evening lectures on Cambridge research or general interest topics and you’ll choose one course in either economics, engineering, or business:

Session 1- Economics: Course on macroeconomics, microeconomics & economic & political thought, through studies of Nobel Prize Winners in economics, development of world capitalist structures and philosophical analysis of democratic capitalism.

Session 2- Engineering: Course on four exciting areas of engineering, in which Cambridge has a strong reputation: nanotechnology, quantum technologies, renewable electrical power & the jet engine.

Session 3 - Business: Course on four cutting-edge topics in business: finance, leadership, strategy, and responsible investing, a perfect opportunity for the ambitious student looking to connect with like-minded peers.

Historic Cambridge will be all around you — the opportunity to attend weekly Formal Halls, formal dinners in medieval halls by candlelight. Regular meals are in the college cafeteria and events and activities are organized as part of the program. Courses and Credits

The Arcadia VIRTUAL Girton College at University of Cambridge program offers courses taught by expert faculty from University of Cambridge. For a summary of courses available to students, please see the Arcadia catalogue at studyabroad.arcadia.edu. Specific Ohio State course equivalences and credits will be determined by the appropriate Ohio State academic departments.

Each course a student takes, regardless of the grade received or how course credit counts toward degree requirements, must:
Be approved via the credit evaluation process; students are strongly encouraged to do this prior to submitting their applications.
  • Transfer back to the student’s Ohio State record.
  • Be completed for graded Ohio State credit. This grade will be factored into the student’s GPA.
Completion of the credit evaluation process does not guarantee the availability of the course abroad. Students are encouraged to have multiple back-up courses approved. Students who cancel their participation for failure to secure approval for desired course work will be subject to the cancellation policy

Admitted participants are required to register themselves in the temporary placeholder course. Further instructions will be provided upon admission to the program.
