The program includes weekly evening lectures on Cambridge research or general interest topics and you’ll choose one course in either economics, engineering, or business:
Session 1- Economics: Course on macroeconomics, microeconomics & economic & political thought, through studies of Nobel Prize Winners in economics, development of world capitalist structures and philosophical analysis of democratic capitalism.
Session 2- Engineering: Course on four exciting areas of engineering, in which Cambridge has a strong reputation: nanotechnology, quantum technologies, renewable electrical power & the jet engine.
Session 3 - Business: Course on four cutting-edge topics in business: finance, leadership, strategy, and responsible investing, a perfect opportunity for the ambitious student looking to connect with like-minded peers.
Historic Cambridge will be all around you — the opportunity to attend weekly Formal Halls, formal dinners in medieval halls by candlelight. Regular meals are in the college cafeteria and events and activities are organized as part of the program. Other events are organized by full-time Cambridge students, such as punting on the River Cam.

Courses and Credits
The Arcadia VIRTUAL Girton College at University of Cambridge program offers courses taught by expert faculty from University of Cambridge. For a summary of courses available to students, please see the Arcadia catalogue at studyabroad.arcadia.edu
. Specific Ohio State course equivalences and credits will be determined by the appropriate Ohio State academic departments.
Each course a student takes, regardless of the grade received or how course credit counts toward degree requirements, must:
Be approved via the credit evaluation process
; students are strongly
encouraged to do this prior
to submitting their applications.
- Transfer back to the student’s Ohio State record.
- Be completed for graded Ohio State credit. This grade will be factored into the student’s GPA.
Completion of the credit evaluation process does not guarantee the availability of the course abroad. Students are encouraged to have multiple back-up courses approved. Students who cancel their participation for failure to secure approval for desired course work will be subject to the cancellation policy
Admitted participants are required to register themselves in the temporary placeholder course. Further instructions will be provided upon admission to the program.

Students may not graduate during the same term in which they are participating on a third party provider/direct enroll program.
Applicants are required to submit TWO applications:
1. OIA education abroad application (start at the "Apply Now" at the bottom or top of this page);
applications must be submitted by the Ohio State application deadline.
Students participating in online global programs will be assessed a $50 administrative fee. If the student withdraws or becomes ineligible, they may be held responsible for a cancellation fee. Please refer to OIA’s Cancellation Policy.
Students will also pay the Arcadia program fee directly to Arcadia. A waiver of tuition for Ohio State students that participate on university-approved third party provider or direct enroll programming is in effect until June 30, 2021. The Arcadia program fee includes tuition and orientation.
Both the OIA and Arcadia applications must be submitted by the Ohio State deadline. The Arcadia application can be found at studyabroad.arcadia.edu
. All Arcadia application materials must be submitted directly to Arcadia.
Students should begin researching funding opportunities
before they have been accepted into a study abroad program. Grants and Scholarships

Students who receive or are eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant are encouraged to apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
. This program is Gilman eligible. Interested students should first verify their existing award package and make an appointment with Student Financial Aid as needed. After researching the scholarship, students wishing to apply for the Gilman International Scholarship should be in touch with the listed education abroad coordinator to begin working on a competitive application.
